MIRAGE

She caressed the black velvet box sheltering her precious pearl set ,reliving those moments when he first clasped it ,his fingers ever so lightly dancing on her neck.

How she wished she knew he had so little time left, dreams for a lifetime snatched away in a moment, the wheel of time refusing to turn back.

She wished she could erase the times they fought, egos screeching making their unwanted presence known, days spent pining away for each other drowned in seas of sorrow.

She wished she woke up next to him ,nuzzling him , his voice whispering into her ear, sending tingles down her spine.

She wished he was right there to lock her in his strong arms , kiss away her tears and hear him say "I'm back, love".

This post is for five sentence fiction wishes prompt

Wonder why many people who show true love as suffering. Eventually that's truth because one who can love true can feel the emotional part of it. Others perish. Sad but it is the way it is. Good one ji.

Nicely expressed, Sahiti.

How difficult it must be for her to think of the 'what-ifs'. Very moving, Sahiti.

No words to express even though I wish to write something. Her pain is so deep. I wish that nobody faces such a painful situation.
